Dr. Craig Stoops fell in love with insects as a child, collecting mayflies, stoneflies, and caddisflies from streams near his home, encouraged early and often to pursue entomology by two mentors. Craig wields a B.S. in Biology from Shippensburg University, and both an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Entomology from Clemson University. His studies of mosquitoes, black flies, and ticks in the United States and internationally, combined with his passion for understanding and controlling the insects in order to protect public health, allow him to design and develop increasingly effective control strategies. Craig has been married to the wonderful Arvilla Scureman for 19 years, and they have a son Harmen, a daughter Sophie, and a basset hound named Basil.
Joe Andrews, a 30-year veteran of environmental and public health-related field work, leads Mosquito Authority's Public Health division, designing and implementing strategic plans for municipalities and mosquito abatement districts. Having held leadership roles in multiple Mosquito and Vector Control Associations and received multiple awards for service, Joe's unique skill set is perfectly representative of Mosquito Authority's values.
